With water wells destroyed and infrastructure in ruins, Gaza is currently not capable of supplying enough water for its 2 million inhabitants even after the ceasefire.

The Public Health Crisis due to Unsafe Water
The destruction of water facilities has led to widespread contamination of available resources and this has triggered an immediate and severe public health disaster.
Nearly 1.9 million people in Gaza are displaced who are living in overcrowded camps with poor sanitation. The scarcity of enough safe drinking water has led to the spread of waterborne diseases, malnutrition and dehydration especially among children.
