Sudan In Crisis

More than 12 million people in Sudan have been forced from their homes by nearly two years of conflict and instability.

The country is now witnessing the world’s largest internal displacement crisis, over 12 million people uprooted within Sudan, and several million more have fled to neighbouring countries.

More than half of the population, about 25 million people, are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, with famine confirmed in parts of Darfur, and acute hunger affecting nearly 24 million.
As winter approaches, conditions are becoming even more severe. Families are exposed to the cold with little protection, limited clothing, and no stable shelter. The ongoing violence and displacement have left communities exhausted, hungry, and vulnerable to disease, with children suffering the most.

Millions have fled their homes as violence intensifies, leaving behind everything they own. We are working on the ground to deliver food, clothing, and essential aid to families fighting to survive through conflict and cold.

Winter Challenges and
Relief Efforts in Sudan

Sudan has faced years of conflict that have disrupted communities, livelihoods, and essential services. Many regions have been cut off from markets, schools, and healthcare, leaving families dependent on humanitarian assistance to survive. Harsh living conditions in displacement camps further exacerbate these challenges.

The country also faces seasonal hardships. Winter nights bring cold temperatures that are particularly dangerous for children, the elderly, and pregnant women living in temporary shelters. Access to clean shelter, clothes, and food is limited, making winter survival even more difficult.
Taskforce GLM is working on the ground in Sudan, providing mattresses, warm clothing, and food packs to help displaced families endure the winter and maintain their health and dignity.
